Elise Ames is an adult amateur dressage rider based in Williston, VT who started riding seriously in 1992. She has had the good fortune of working with excellent clinicians and instructors, including Michael Mauss (since 1996!), Joy Congdon, Gunnar Ostergaard, and Eric Horgan. She is currently chief financier and friend to three great horses - Tempo, a 1996 Th/Percheron cross homebred; Safri, a 2002 Danish Warmblood imported by the Ostergaards in 2006; and Wilkinson, a 2002 Hanoverian imported by Bob Koopman and new to the farm in June 2010. She has also the fondest memories of April Fool, a 1972 Morgan/QH cross who was a friend growing up and the horse that "raised her right".
Overture Farm is currently an umbrella for three different horses in three different barns! We're dreaming of the day that there will be a building with a place for everything ....... but for now, we are very fortunate to have Windswept Farm & Mike and Tina Mauss (Tee's home), Noble Spirit Farm and Chris and David Jenkins (Safri's respite), and Northfork & Laura Mack (Wilkinson's training facility) for both housing and great friendships.
